Unique Fact(s): Melissa Palma, MD, MPH  graduated with degrees in biochemistry and medicine from the University of Iowa and began her career dedicated to immigrant and refugee health. She trained in Preventive Medicine and Family Medicine at Cook County Health in Chicago, IL. She received her Masters of Public Health at Northwestern University and now practices as a family physician in Thundermist Health Center in Woonsocket, RI.
 
Since her youth, Dr. Palma trained in classical ballet, jazz, and modern dance and was a member of the semi-professional Andante Dance Company. In medical school, she began a lifelong journey with partner dancing by attending community classes in salsa, bachata, and Argentine tango. In her free time, she enjoys exploring New England bicycle rail trails and ski slopes with her husband, Arnav.
Dr. Palma is excited to hang up her stethoscope in exchange for sequined dance shoes for a night celebrating the power of community fundraising for a cause!
