Dr Jordan White

Unique Fact(s): Dr Jordan White does not wear dresses or heels, she doesn’t wear makeup, and the only times she has ever danced were with her husband - they took lessons to survive the “first dance” at their wedding, and they attempted to learn to dance for a friend’s birthday party - while fun, their success was debatable.   Despite all of this, she is becoming a dancing doctor by choice: she has two kids who inspire her every day with their own willingness to try new things and recover from setbacks. What better way to join them in being bold than fundraising for an amazing organization by throwing on heels, makeup, a dress, and attempting to dance in front of hundreds of people?

When she is not attempting to dance, Dr White serves as one of the Consultant Medical Directors at the RI Department of Health, and one of the course leaders in the Primary Care-Population Medicine Program at the Warren Alpert Medical School.  She was a psychology major at the University of North Carolina, and entered medical school after a few years working as a camp counselor and as a live-in volunteer at a Ronald McDonald House in Adelaide, Australia.  Earlier in her career, she was Assistant Clerkship Director for the Family Medicine Clerkship, and she served as the first Student Affairs Dean at the medical school. She transitioned to RIDOH early in the COVID pandemic, and her role has evolved since then to focus on the Refugee Health Program, family planning/reproductive justice, and the health of pregnant and parenting families in Rhode Island.

For this bravery in support of a great organization, Jordan hopes you will vote for her!
